Love is in the meek looks,
Love is in the weakness

Loss is the shattered glass,
the iron willed sledgehammer
to the concrete floor,

Love is inexplicable,
Love is understandable.

Loss is 6 feet under
Loss is waterlogged lungs
in three inch puddles

Love is the cool water
that greets the sand
to recede back again.

Love cannot be sent
Love cannot be received

Just because I cannot share
Doesn't mean I haven't lost or loved.

Said something in class today, not sure if it was stupid or not, but I had to vent.

first of all, your idea wasn’t stupid in the slightest. i thought about what you said for the rest of the day, just trying to pinpoint what was so peculiar about it. i think the reason people attacked it was because society in general over-sensationalizes the feeling of love to the point of overkill. there is no doubt that love has lost its meaning, if it ever had one in the first place. this is exactly what orwell was saying in his essay -- established phrases like “i love you” are just fed to us by forces such as the media to utter at the “appropriate time” in a relationship, whether or not those feelings are actually inside you. perhaps it’s the opposite: saying the words themselves might even spark the emotions of love within somebody. i have no idea. while i don’t necessarily agree with your entire idea, i do think it’s a valid point, and a very interesting one at that.

the whole thing just really bothered me i guess so I spent the entire day trying to formulate the thought because its just so frustrating to be shot down like that. I'm not sure people understood what I was saying, which was the phrase within itself is meaningless because its just some sort of milestone, whereas the true emotion in undefinable uncharacteristic and i believe impossible to equate in language.
I definetly wasn't saying love doesn't exist because that would be so unbelievably depressing I was saying its lost all meaning and definition.

i understand that more clearly now, but other people were definitely misinterpreting what you were saying. and gal certainly didn't help by adding that bit about the pleasure that beans give to people...

I know, but as an example it would seem would be our siggy's for one yours says "Light Up the darkness" while mine says "There goes the sun..." even though both can have the same meaning which one comes off as having less hope in the light?

I was quoting Marley because i thought his view on music is enlightening quite literally.
